Supachet was born in Bangkok in 1978 and studied at the College
of Fine Art in Bangkok and later at the Faculty of Fine Art
in Chiang Mai.
He likes to paint themes from nature and his paintings
include cats, landscapes and trees, but he is best known
for his wonderful coloured elephants, loved by adults and
children alike. He says that as a child he always considered
that elephants were such a dull grey colour, and wondered
what they would look like wearing bright colours – and
now, through his paintings, we know.
Under the name of ’Things called Art’ he reproduces
his elephant paintings on cards, notebooks and T-shirts,
in colour and in black and white and he can often be seen
at art fairs and markets talking with customers.
Over the last 6 years, Supachet has exhibited in many
places in Thailand and has also been a selected artist
for a number of prestigeous contemporary art exhibitions
in Thailand and abroad.
